1. Key responsibilities/duties of the role (overall scope - describing the categories of resources controlled, overall results to be achieved, budgets, complexity and contacts, etc)
Responsibilities will include liaising with internal and external contacts on a regular basis. Some of the duties involved will be:
· Lead the investigations in to reported lab issues, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner and that any resulting learnings are captured in an internal "best practices" guidance note for future activities
· Identify, investigate and communicate issues during the testing activities including root cause analysis and enhancement identification
· Highlight any Health & Safety non-compliances in accordance with company regulations.
2. Other requirements or features of the role
Ability to work flexibility, taking ownership for the engineering function and demonstrate ability to take on additional tasks to achieve project deadlines.
Ability to travel globally to deliver business requirements.
Fluent and confident English language skills, both verbal & written.

3. Experience
(type of experience rather than length)
· 3-5 years (Senior) and 1-3 years (Junior) for ' experience in a responsible role relevant to test and validation of Radio and RAN technology
· Experience of working within an engineering team
· Experience of working independently and delivering results in a timely fashion
· Test and validation engineering background
· Experience of 4G and 5G Radio and RAN testing
· Experience of Open RAN architectures
· Experience of working with air interface and network protocols and infrastructures
· Telecoms system engineering background
4. Education and/or
Professional
Qualifications
· Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred Electronics /Telecommunications or similar
5. Professional Skills and Knowledge
(technical expertise specific to this role)
· Solid working knowledge of 4G Radio Access Network technology
· Working knowledge of radio conformance testing techniques
· Field and network issue analysis skills
· Familiarity with RAN test and measurement tools
· Ability to understand complex systems and requirements
· Ability to effectively explain complex technical details to others
· Familiarity with 5G Radio Access Network technology
· Familiarity with the 3GPP architectures
· Familiarity with Open vRAN Fronthaul profiles
· Working knowledge of legacy (2G/3G) Radio technology
